Inspiration!

Inspiration is what I believe to be a huge part of every artists life. While I was in Uni, my lecturer told me there was no such thing as art block...So, I made it my mission to make my work space as inspiring as possible. I've always wanted to have my own proper room or rather studio to work in and now having moved house, i have my own space <3
So! It's super important to me my will to draw and ideas never dry up which is why how I set my room up is what I consider crucial! Sadly, we had a leak the other day and it went all over my desk, my laptop, printer and so on. Thankfully, nothing was damaged but it did mean I had to move my settled space round all over again. I countered the 'bad leak feelings' by moving everything around and putting up my posters!

Mrs Valentyne

Well, here we are.
I am officially a spoken for woman, I am now married and so very proud to be Mrs Valentyne. Neither Nicky or I wanted to carry on with our previous surnames so last year Nicky changed her surname to one we both came up with/agreed upon so that when we married, I would take her name.
We couldn't of asked for better weather, it was a gloriously sunny day and apparently our vows that we had written ourselves brought most people to tears. Our friends and family that were there had such lovely things to say, one comment that struck me was how evident it was to every one how much we loved one another.
I wont bore you with the details, we had a fantastic honeymoon just to drop in the mention. We also booked for next year. (Provided Nicky hasn't divorced me by then XD)

Now onto Artwork & Faceups/Sewing. I will be putting my all into them over the next two months. A storm is brewing and you shall see -shakes fist- YOU SHALL SEE!

Life Changes

Hello again!
How are you all?IOt's been nearly a month since Final Fantasy XIII-2 was released I wonder how many of you have completed it? I'm very close but at the same time I want to go fragment hunting.

Some big changes are going to be happening in my life and for once, they are all for the better. Normally people have to change because they have to not because they want to. I'd like to think I don't want much in life. A job I can enjoy that pays enough to keep a roof over my head, the debt collectors at bay and food on the table. Ideally sewing or drawing : ) A home, not neccesarily a big one, just some where safe and warm. My lover and my friends.
Sure it would be nice to be a millionaire, but to me that would just be a bonus. I'm getting married in as few months, cant lie if I said I wasnt nervous. This month I ended up going to a doll meet with some very good friends that has convinced both Nicky and I its time to move on. Move down to that area that is! Finally, living close to friends again we have missed it so much. I've managed to change my hours at work. I don't like the job I'm doing and it cuts my days in half, so I've fiddled my hours around so I wont lose as many hours but I will have more time to work on Liquid Sugar!

Anyways, rambling aside how is every one?

How goes 2012?

So how are you all? I've had some bad luck this year, so far anyway. Firstly, my main computer has broken so I've lost some of my editing programs, so everything is going back to being hand inked. Not that I mind though. I'm started to save up for a Mac anyway. I'm also on the look out for a new graphics tablet! Art wise I've the next few pages of Meant for Me done as well as one of two (if not more) character sheets done as well as come bonus artwork planned. (Pretty bishies in the shower any one?)

But how are you all anyway?

I've some new artwork that needs to be uploaded, however I'm actually away at the moment till Tuesday and I'm sure the release of FFXIII-2 will slow things down tee hee!
Doll wise my collection is complete in terms of getting them home all my characters are here or on their way. (Star is the last to arrive and Lily has been reshelled.) So Liquid Sugar is going to get some serious dedication as well. In terms of the 'real world' I'm actually away at my partners parents home for the moment but will be returning soon. I'm also job hunting until I can get my artwork & sewing off the ground. I'll be attending JCC Con in September with my Liquid Sugar goods so there is one start off eh?

I've also kindly been given a lovely subsciption so I think I might start doing some weekly polls just for some giggles!

Birthday Fun!

Birthday Fun!

Well my birthday has recently passed and my nearest and dearest family and friends have well and truly spoilt me. I know things are a little slow at the moment, but I can assure you I'm not on hiatus I just have another job thats taking up my time.

Infact I'm about to go work on some illustrations shortly. Just popping by to wish you all a very merry holiday however you spend and celebrate and a big thanks to all my watchers.

Sorry things are all quiet ladies and gents, same story I guess I need a job to keep going and keep the flat and as well for paying for my beautiful little kitten Demi <3
That's right Nicky and I have a kitten together, she is crazy, loving and beautiful and fits perfectly in our flat. She is grey with flecks of gingers and whites.

As for artwork I've landed an llustration gig I'm just waiting on more details to get started, I know Meant for Me has gone quiet but I am still working on it fear not, infact this is my night off so I'm hoping to get the next page finished. I've actually got it all drawn up I need to do the layout and the text. I've also caught a case of the sewing bug but haven't had a chance to do anything.

Anyway, BJD wise I've reshelled Lily and I've my eyes set on the last of my BJD crew, STAR!
Time for me to get going and get some work done, I had an asthma attack yesterday in work and it left me exhausted all day today, I've only just found my energy tee hee!

So, I've had enough of the real world for a while so I'm off. Off on an art holiday for a week where I do little more then play PSP and draw!

Why Hello Again!

Hello All!

How are you doing? I've recently got back from a fantastic time at the Rosadoll Con (http://www.rosadoll.co.uk) :iconrosadoll: It will be running next year and seriously my BJD friends, make time for it, it really was a fantastic Con, never a dull moment, but save your pennies because the bring and buy is an awesome way to grab some very much needed BJD things without the cost of shipping and customs!

Art wise things are on the move, I hope, though I'm very much having a 'I need to sort my life out' moment xD I suppose that can't be helped, I do have a lot of personal things going on but for once I wont bore you with them!
I would however, like a chance to tell you all, I now have a website,blog spot and twitter and would love it if you could go along book mark or add me. I'm thinking of a Tumblr, I'm just not so sure on it at the moment heh! The advantage of checking out my website is that you get sneak previews at THE ART OF SHADOWS and their shiny finished version as well as some unique artwork I might not show on here!

Getting the hang of digital!

Been working some more on 'Meant for Me' the manga being written by Kerry Wadsley and Illustrated by myself.
This is the insert page for the manga 'Meant for Me' This is essentially the first page a visual introduction to the characters who will be involved in the story ^_^
So far I've ten pages written out and have begun sketching them all, next to ink and so on. Its a real challenge.

Is it just me who thinks this year is flying by so so fast? We're already in July and worse yet nearing August! I'm still hoping to get The Art Of Shadows published by the end of this year though! I've found and joined a new website to help get some notice of my drawings hopefully soon, its called Paper Demon, any one else hear of it?

Please remember guys I'm still up for commission, I'm still doing face ups and I've still got some prints for sale too < 3 So if you fancy getting some prints or a pretty face on your BJD just drop me a note!

The projects that I'm working on are still Meant for Me the manga which I'm really enjoying I've the first part planned out already and the first few pages done. As well as Art Of Shadows which I'd say is abouy 60% complete so far!

Back into the Digital Frey!

So I've been avoiding it for as long as I could now, but oddly starting Tales of Symphonia again reminded me of how much I wanted to colour again, I finally bit the bullet and got some help and got on with it. I'm actually very pleased with the results!

Website and Manga!

Firstly, the website is now up and running, thats right ladies and gents, VALENTINE STUDIOS has been launched!

To celebrate this launch I've been extra busy, firstly there will be the artwork donations for Us Un Ltd, secondly I am working on a new Manga with writer Skyla Rose, and thirdly, as always, working hard on The Art Of Shadows. Throw into the mix that I'm sorting out my wedding and I'm one busy gal and just to show you, I'm not all talk, here's my latest work!

Us Un Ltd

I’m currently getting my website up and running but in the mean time, you know how I like to do lots of things at once!

Us Un Ltd is a fantastic  group of young people who have the drive to set up a project called ‘The Getaway’ The aim of the group is to help promote advice and information to people who are at risk of homelessness. It has also been nominated for the Philip Lawrence Awards Network, showing the very best of the team’s dedication in Flintshire. Not only that the Us Unltd are going from strength to strength as the ladies, Cat, Steph and Shaneice recently won the  Inspirational Young Women Award!

There are many charities and causes that people are able to support these days but having faced dire circumstances myself and this being a close to the heart, close to the home cause I’m pledging myself to assist in any way I can.  In order to help raise funds and awareness Us Un Ltd have a shop in Flint where they sell goods made by their staff and volunteers.

Update and New Art

So where have I been?

No where. That's actually the truth, physically I've not been any where however mentally I've been working on getting out of this pit. Some days are better then others. Other days are lower but hey ho. That's how it goes right?

But anyway, I've new artwork up and new face ups going up as we speak, well type rather. I'm currently hooked on my DS with FF Tactics tee hee.
I really miss my friends, I'm alone here but I'm getting used to it. I've got some wonderful doll friends who I meet once a month, which I have a guest in my doll family at the moment. He's so sweet I'm quiet falling for him myself tee hee. But Kim, god bless her, actually went to the trouble of buying me FF IV The Complete Collection on my PSP just as a cheer up.thankyou.
Then the lovely Lulu sent me a plushie.
Oh which reminds me I can sew dresses now. Lulu helped me and I went to my grandmother and begged her to help xD So expect a lot of dresses soon ^_^

Ack where is the time going? Between Easter Bunnies and Royal weddings we're in May already?
Delays have been caused due to some tattoo work that left me unable to walk >< Buuuut there are updates on the way, Art of Shadows the book is being worked on, images are being cleaned up and getting ready to put in the book as we speak!

What do you like to see in an illustration book though? Character work? Romance? Action? Conflict? Whats your favourite part ne?
For me its the character design!
